Improved Results Require Different Thinking. Training is A Way to Start

Training can take many different forms, online (great for remote locations), classroom, public (multiple companies attending) and in-house (your own company on its own). For a sample of our training and speaking style click here. Training programs require a process of assessing the training needs and tailoring the program to suit.

Training Needs Analysis
This is a review of existing training, workforce skills and knowledge requirements. It produces a summary of what is in place and what extra may be needed to enhance or complete your training program. Contact us for more information.

Our Training Approach
Our training is offered both "in-house" at your facilities or externally as public courses. It is developed by experts. We don't re-invent the wheel - if a good program exists elsewhere we will either deliver it under license or we'll refer you to other training service providers. If we feel there is a need for a better program we develop and offer our own. We often use case studies and coached projects as a part of our training approach. Wherever practical these case studies are taken from your own "real life" situations in your own operating environment. If you want further information or to discuss a program for your organization, then please contact us directly.

Client Courses
We offer all of our training, often tailored for specific requirements, to our clients for deliver in-house at their own facilities. A list of upcoming client courses is included below to give you a flavour of what our clients are asking for.

Asset Management Training
Asset Management is a holistic life cycle approach to managing your physical assets that goes well beyond maintenance and beyond engineering. A new specification for Asset Management (PAS-55) is the world's first and it is an excellent model to follow. It is rapidly gaining interest around the world and in particular in the regulated industries such as utilities. Some food companies are embracing it. Pharmaceuticals and others where public safety are paramount will see it soon. It is rapidly becoming the gold standard in holistic life cycle management of physical assets. We are the first North American based firm offering PAS-55 support services and training. Contact us to learn more.

Maintenance and Management Training
New plants, mills, mines, factories or even established organizations that are starting comprehensive development programs may want an entire program developed with their needs in mind. Our Uptime program is designed for developing competency at maintenance, reliability, MRO materials and operations within an entire organization. We offer a variety of specific short courses (less than 1 week) in most of the areas of maintenance management you might want: Change Leadership, Work Management (includes planning & scheduling), Project Management, Performance Management and Business Process Optimization. These courses use real examples from your business as case studies forming part of the training experience. Contact us to learn more about how we can help support your training needs.

Reliability Program Support
Companies that are already doing well at managing the maintenance activity yet need to improve reliability to achieve improved safety, improved environmental compliance and lower cost performance will benefit from our reliability program. Here we have blended the necessary elements for technical excellence in physical asset reliability management. To learn more about each element click on it's heading: Reliability Programs, Reliability Technical Training, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM2)Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

Uptime Courses
We've developed a series of short courses designed to help you pull the various elements together as needed for operational excellence. Companies often have training in specific technical areas and / or business processes and computer management systems training, but those are not yet integrated into a cohesive whole. Our Uptime training pulls all the pieces of the puzzle to together so that efforts become more co-ordinated and focused on the same goals. Our in-house Uptime training uses a simulation exercise to really drive home the learning points. It's a great learning experience, students don't forget what they've learned because they've practiced with it and they have fun in the process. Click here to learn more.

Targeted Training for Individuals
Training is often required only for specific individuals or groups. We provide training tailored for your specific target audience such as: Executive leadership / program sponsors, Managers, Regulators, Change initiative leaders, Superintendents, Supervisors, Technicians, Maintainers, Operators. Contact us to learn how we can help you with your specific training needs.

Computer Based Training - Uptime for Leaders
We are now producing training courses in electronic media. Our first production is, "Uptime for Leaders" - a 4+ hour training program for managers and other leaders of improvement initiatives. The course consists of 4 hours of instruction (broken into roughly 20 minute segments) with a student workbook. This is aimed at leaders of change programs aimed at improving maintenance management and plant / equipment performance.
